Downtown Bixby’s city streets got a total revamp. The project included a redesign of a portion of downtown to include commercial areas, retail shopping, multi-family housing, hotels, restaurants and business development. Additionally, the master plan covered a redesign of an urban park, surrounding streetscapes and entry gateway signage for the city.

A key element of the effort was a street crossing feature at Dawes & Armstrong in the Downtown River District. Our structural and electrical engineering teams designed the street crossing structure to mimic the agricultural field sprinklers as a nod to Bixby’s roots. The City of Bixby’s vision is to revitalize the downtown core area to spur growth south of the Arkansas River, which has led to the $14+ million funding in public improvements. We’re looking forward to where this vision will take our neighboring town!
