The 75 year old Parish of Christ the King Catholic Church and Marquette Catholic School were ready to expand their previous campus with a new pre-school, regulation gymnasium and chapel. Within the large, formal design of the exterior, one main goal was to create an inviting, fun space for toddlers to thrive – insert a streetscape theme within the halls of the school. The classroom windows were complete with flower boxes, awnings and bright colors. Each ‘house’ was a separate space within the school, and the ‘street’ connects and continues to the playground’s tricycle track, which loops around the large play structure, sandbox and splash pad play area.
